GAS – ELECTRICAL LEAD ENGINEER – FRANCE (6 Months)

Description :
We are looking for a senior electrical engineer for a minimum of 6 months in France (94).
  • Design of the electrical system for the petrochemical industry and refineries with regard to high voltage.
  • Clarifying interfaces with the electricity network operator on network characteristics and expected performance at the battery limit.
  • Planning, managing, controlling, reviewing and approving discipline work with respect to appropriate quality, project specifications and contractual requirements.
  • Preparation of project documentation for HV, including project specifications, one-line diagrams, protection and control diagrams, terminal connection diagrams, substation drawings; definition of control and protection philosophy for HV substations;
  • Carrying out electrical calculations, including grid connection and harmonic studies;
  • Coordination of conditioning units, interfaces with other disciplines, customer and suppliers;
  • Preparation of application files for HV electrical equipment in accordance with contractual requirements and project specifications;
  • Participation in factory acceptance testing of electrical equipment
  • Checking project and supplier documentation for completeness and compliance with standards, industry regulations and contract requirements;
						
Profile :
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering ;
  • Over 8 years' experience in a plant engineering company as an electrical engineer in the high voltage field;
  • Essential: Experience in the specification and design of high voltage (50kV and above) substation equipment, CBs, VTs, CTs, LAs, line and earth disconnectors, switches, HV cables including HV/MV power transformers, AIS and GIS switchgear units,
  • Essential: Experience in the design and specification of control and protection systems for HV substations (BCU, RTU, protection functions, measuring devices, energy meters, etc.);
  • Knowledge of international standards (IEC, IEEE, etc.), mainly those relating to HV and MV substations;
  • Experience in defining manual/electrical interlocking systems and earthing systems;
  • Familiarity with civil works related to HV substations, including oil pits, gantries and clearances between HV equipment and CW buildings.
  • Solid experience of calculations and analysis of calculation notes relating to: > Short circuit; > Load flow; > Harmonics; > CT and PT calculation notes; > Protection coordination; > Earthing network; > Motor acceleration studies.
  • Communication and coordination with other disciplines in terms of scope of work and consideration of "workflow".
  • Ability to work independently in the preparation of proposals and execution of electrical projects for national and international projects;
  • Coordination of vendors, suppliers and manufacturers; coordination of interfaces with specialists in the customer's technical disciplines.
  • Fluent English,
  • Knowledge of ETAP or other electrical network analysis software would be an asset,
  • Computer skills, knowledge of applications such as MS Office, ACAD, etc.
  • Willing to work in a multicultural team, willing to travel at short notice to other engineering centres and construction sites around the world;
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
