We are seeking an Excitation System Testing Engineer to perform a series of static and dynamic tests on a Fuji make Static Excitation System following a major generator outage. This role is essential to ensure optimal system performance, reliability, and compliance with operational requirements.

1. Static Excitation System – Static Checks

• Perform visual inspection of all equipment and connections.

• Conduct functional and interlock checks of the system.

• Verify interconnections with other control panels.

• Carry out secondary voltage injection to AVR and validate measured values.

• Perform secondary current injection to AVR and validate measured values.

• Conduct voltage and current injection to AVR to confirm active and reactive power values.

• Test excitation current detection via DC voltage injection.

2. Dynamic Testing Activities

• Re-commission the excitation system post major generator outage and execute dynamic tests.

• Conduct voltage build-up tests in Auto mode (AVR) and Manual mode (MVR) for Channel-1 and Channel-2.

• Perform online changeover tests:

  • Channel-1 Auto ↔ Channel-2 Auto

  • Channel-1 Auto ↔ Channel-1 Manual

  • Channel-2 Auto ↔ Channel-2 Manual

• Execute Generator OCC tests in AVR manual mode.

• Carry out STG set Synchronisation and Loading tests.
