Contract Manager – Tajikistan – 12 Months

Description :
Within the framework of a major hydropower construction project, the company is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to oversee and coordinate all contractual aspects related to the EPC and future civil works packages.

The position requires advanced expertise in FIDIC contracts (Silver Book and Red Book) and close collaboration with both the Head Office and on-site project teams to ensure effective contract execution and compliance.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all contractual matters concerning multiple construction lots (currently three EPC contracts under FIDIC Silver Book, with two additional FIDIC Red Book 2017 packages to follow).
  • Advise and support the Construction Resident Engineer (CRE), Deputy Contract Manager, Cost Controllers, Planners, and Technical Resident Engineers on contractual and commercial issues.
  • Coordinate and validate all inputs and outputs related to contract management from the site team.
  • Draft, review, and issue contractual correspondence, reports, meeting minutes, and formal communications.
  • Manage claims, variations, and change orders, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Support Dispute Avoidance / Adjudication Boards (DAB) processes and arbitration procedures when required.
  • Ensure proper documentation and traceability of all contractual exchanges.
  • Report to the Head Office Contract Management Team and contribute to project governance and audits.
Profile :
  • Education:
    • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, and/or
    • Master’s degree in Construction Law or Contract Management.
  • Experience: Minimum 25 years in the international construction industry, including significant experience in large-scale hydropower projects.
  • Proven record of at least two projects using FIDIC Silver Book and two projects using FIDIC Red Book conditions of contract.
  • Strong knowledge of FIDIC 2017 editions and associated claims/dispute mechanisms.
  • Experience with DAB and/or arbitration procedures is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Russian is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and negotiation skills.
