GAS – SUBCONTRACT MANAGER – FRANCE (12 Months)

Description :
We are looking for a subcontract manager for a minimum of 12 months in France (94).

As a Subcontract Manager, your role will be to support the Owner Project Director (OPD) and the Package Manager, and to supervise one or several Subcontract Engineers. 

In Development phase:
  • Be responsible for the commercial and contractual parts of the assigned EPC package,
  • Coordinate closely with the Package Manager (leading the overall effort) and the Technical Coordinator to progress the tender up to “ready for signature” status, for the Final Investment Decision (FID) by the partners and end-clients,
  • Supervise the Subcontract Engineer carrying out similar duties on other work packages within the project,
  • Prepare the Invitation To Bid (ITB) rules,
  • Prepare the draft EPC terms and conditions, in coordination with the Procurement and Legal functions,
  • Lead communication with the bidders through the tender, including records keeping, ITB acknowledgement and NDAs (Non-Disclosure Agreements),
  • Contribute to sourcing and auditing of bidders to ensure adequate qualification, including by way of a dedicated pre-qualification process if appropriate,
  • Lead commercial and contractual clarifications and negotiations,
  • Prepare the Commercial Bid Tabulation to be approved by the Package Manager,
  • Participate in project review meetings and distribute and consolidate commercial / contractual/ technical queries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure a proper balance between business requirements, financial targets and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with other project members to share knowledge, lessons learned, and best practices across projects and teams.
  • Travel once or twice a month to sites in the 59 region.
Profile :
  • Basic knowledge in other components of EPC projects, such as engineering or construction will also be appreciated.

  • Proactive and capacity to drive activities until completion
  • Negotiation skills,
  • Demonstrated experience in subcontracting of large-size (>100 m€) EPC lump sum contracts on industrial or pipeline projects, with a track record on tendering and executing EPC contracts either from the client or the contractor point of view.

  • Solution-oriented mindset to identify solutions in the partners interests leveraging resources from both groups
