Chief Resident Engineer – DRC – 27 Months

Description :
As the Resident Engineer for the new hydroelectric power plant, you will be responsible for the overall supervision, coordination, and technical oversight of all construction activities on-site. 
You will ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, schedules, and HSE requirements while coordinating closely with the Client, EPC contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Project Supervision: Oversee the construction works to ensure adherence to design drawings, technical specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Hydroelectric Expertise: Provide technical guidance on hydro-mechanical installations, civil engineering works, and associated infrastructure.
  • Coordination & Reporting: Act as the main point of contact between the client, contractors, and the engineering team, ensuring smooth communication and issue resolution.
  • Quality & Compliance: Monitor quality control procedures, inspection schedules, and testing activities; approve method statements and ITPs.
  • Scheduling & Progress Monitoring: Ensure construction milestones are met, validate contractors’ progress claims, and prepare monthly reports for the client.
  • HSE & Risk Management: Promote strict compliance with HSE standards and identify risks impacting project delivery.
  • Capacity Building: Supervise and train local engineers and technicians, ensuring knowledge transfer and skill development.
Profile :
  • Education: Master’s Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Hydraulics, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years in the hydropower sector, with significant on-site experience as Resident Engineer or equivalent role.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong expertise in hydro-mechanical equipment and civil works for hydropower plants.
    • Familiarity with international construction codes and quality assurance procedures.
    • Proven track record in project supervision, commissioning, and contract management (FIDIC experience preferred).
  • Soft Skills: Leadership, problem-solving, and excellent communication abilities.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory; French is a strong asset
