Proposal Engineer – Belgium – 6 Months
Description :
You will lead the end-to-end preparation of competitive technical and commercial bids for defence programmes. Key responsibilities include:

Analysing customer specifications, identifying sensitivities, and producing synthesis documents to shape bid strategy.

Building bid strategies with department heads and senior leadership.
-
Conducting risk & opportunity assessments; preparing mitigation and avoidance plans.

Performing market studies (programmes, needs, available solutions, sourcing, and limits of supply).

Scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring bid activities across commercial, finance, engineering quality, and project management stakeholders.

Developing, tracking, and validating cost estimates; preparing submissions for internal approvals.

Drafting complete technical and commercial proposals in coordination with all functions.

Supporting commercial and technical negotiations.
-
Maintaining continuity of contact with customers and external partners.

Contributing to standardisation, alternative solutions, and technical innovations to improve project competitiveness.
Profile :
-
Degree in engineering, marketing, business or similar, with a solid technical base to grasp complex products.

Proven knowledge of legal and commercial aspects (contractual & financial conditions, documentary credit, export credit/insurance, contractual risks).

Strong command of IT tools (MS Office incl. advanced Excel; MS Project). Experience with ERP (SAP and/or Baan) is a plus.

Bilingual French & English. Additional languages are an asset.

Leadership, autonomy, sound judgement, accountability, and discretion handling confidential documents.

Team coordination and delegation capabilities.

Knowledge spanning commercial/financial topics, engineering management, quality management, and project management.
