System Engineer – Belgium – 9 Months
Description :
As part of its new strategic projects, our client is strengthening its design office and is seeking a systems engineer to contribute to the design, modelling and validation of complex defence systems. The selected engineer will be responsible for defining, tracing, and validating system requirements throughout the full product lifecycle, in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams (electronics, mechanics, automation, and control systems).

Analyse customer and stakeholder needs and formalise system-level requirements.

Define, model, and validate system architectures in accordance with INCOSE principles and ISO 15288 standards.

Draft and maintain requirement specifications and related documentation.

Ensure full traceability between customer needs, design requirements, architecture, and testing activities.

Participate in functional analysis and system safety / reliability (RAMS) studies.
-
Develop behavioural models of the system (activity, use case, sequence, state, and internal block diagrams).

Contribute to the implementation of MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering) methods and tools.

Produce all required Systems Engineering deliverables (SysML diagrams, requirement matrices, validation reports).

Conduct technology watch and contribute to maintaining the company’s engineering standards and references.

Prepare and present technical results internally and externally, including occasional short missions abroad.
Profile :
-
Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Electronics, Mechatronics, or Automation.

Trained in Systems Engineering according to INCOSE methodologies.

Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a similar position, ideally within the Defence, Aerospace, or High-Tech Industry.

Proficiency in:
-
SysML and MBSE methods,
-
IBM Rational DOORS, IBM Rhapsody, Matlab Simulink.

Strong analytical, synthesis, and communication skills.

Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and coordinate technical interfaces.

Technical English required (B2 level minimum).

Willingness to travel occasionally abroad.
