GAS – PIPING DESIGN COORDINATOR

Description :
For one of our clients, we are looking for a piping design coordinator for a minimum period of 6 months in France (94).
  • Define the general architecture of the unit (layout of equipment and routing of piping), taking into account construction, accessibility, maintenance and safety constraints.
  • Preparing tender documents for detailed piping studies.
  • Carrying out technical clarifications and participating in the selection of the piping design office (BET) responsible for project studies.
  • Acting as an interface between the various engineering disciplines (processes, boiler equipment, civil engineering, structural steelwork, instrumentation, etc.) and the design office.
  • Monitoring progress, guiding and approving the work of the design engineer.
  • Ensuring that the customer’s technical standards are applied correctly.
  • Leading design reviews.
  • Liaising with the site during the unit construction phase, or with the sub-contractor manufacturer in the case of skid-mounted assemblies.
Profile :
  • You will work in the design office in the piping/general installation team on the design of units such as hydrogen or CO2 liquefiers or cryogenic air separation units.
  • You will be working on projects that are usually international and involve several of the customer’s engineering centres.
  • You will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in piping/general installation, ideally in an engineering environment.
  • Alternatively, you will have at least 3 years’ onsite experience supervising mechanical assembly and skills in piping design.
  • You know how engineering works, the role of the various disciplines, the interfaces between them and the sequence of a project.
  • You have general technical knowledge of mechanics, civil engineering, metal structures and boiler making.
  • You are able to work in English with people from different cultures.
  • You enjoy working as part of a team.
  • You are capable of supervising the work of a detailed design office (regular updates, monitoring progress and schedules, proactive identification of difficulties).
